The book was first published in 2011 in hardcover format by Regnery Publishing.[26] An ebook was released the same year, along with an audiobook read by Malcolm Hillgartner.[27][28] A Russian language print edition was published in 2011.[29] Another audiobook was released in 2012, this time read by Jim Meskimen.[30] The book was reissued in 2015 by Regnery Publishing in paperback format, this time with the new title.[31] This edition was published in Vietnamese in 2016,[32] and in Japanese in 2017.[33][34]

Safe Time means necessary time away from work due to domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking. An employee is entitled to use earned sick leave hours for Safe Time for themselves or a family member, which includes their child, spouse, domestic partner, parent, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, or the child or parent of their spouse or domestic partner. Retaliation is prohibited and employers must allow employees to use Safe Time to obtain any of the following services:


Employers must post in a conspicuous place at any workplace or job site where any employee works, the notices published each year by the City. Additionally, every employer must also provide each employee, at the time of hire or by Oct. 1, 2016, whichever is later, written notice of the employer's legal name, any fictitious business name, address, telephone number, the employer's requirements under the Ordinance, information on how the employer satisfies these requirements including the employer's method of earned sick leave accrual. This notice may be provided through an accessible electronic communication in lieu of a paper notice. Even as they express doleful views about the state of trust today, many Americans believe the situation can be turned around. Fully 84% believe the level of confidence Americans have in the federal government can be improved, and 86% think improvement is possible when it comes to the confidence Americans have in each other. Some amount of risk-taking by Washington makes sense. The status quo should not be idealized: open trading principles are far from fully implemented and sometimes more honored in the breach, particularly by China. The United States therefore has strong reason to implement measures it thinks will protect American economic interests and add to pressure for structural reforms. It also has reason to believe that the WTO system will merely bend, not break, under this pressure. The system has survived for decades despite numerous international disputes and changing geo-economic and geopolitical dynamics. U.S. tech controls have so far not sent bilateral trade ties with China (let alone the larger WTO system) into a death spiral.
